TexShare Library Lending Policies
Limitations: TexShare patrons may check out three books for a 21-day period with one renewal. Interlibrary Loan is not available for TexShare cardholders. Genealogy, audiovisual or reference materials may not be checked out.
Eligibility: TexShare cardholders over the age of 18 from other libraries will be issued a temporary Liberty Municipal Library card upon presentation of a current TexShare card and photo ID with current mailing address. The temporary card expires three months after the date of issue.
Liberty Municipal Library patrons over 18 years of age with a check out history of at least one year and no outstanding fines or lost or damaged materials may apply for a TexShare card. TexShare cards issued to local patrons are valid for one year. A TexShare card will not automatically be issued to every patron.
Card availability: TexShare cards will be issued by the library director during the following hours: Monday through Thursday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
Renewals: Books may be renewed one time in person, by telephone, fax or e-mail. Items on reserve may not be renewed. The library’s telephone number is 936-336-8901, FAX number is 936-336-2414, and the e-mail address is lmlill@cityofliberty.org.
Returns: Books borrowed from the Liberty Municipal Library may be returned in person or by mail. The cardholder is responsible for expenses incurred in returning materials. The library’s mailing address is: 1710 Sam Houston Avenue, Liberty, Texas 77575. The library has an outside book drop for returns after regular business hours.
The Liberty Municipal Library will not be responsible for returning TexShare materials to the lending library. The patron must return materials through the mail or in person and costs involved are the responsibility of the borrower.
Fines: Fines for materials checked out from the Liberty Municipal Library are 10 cents per day per item with a maximum of $7.50, at which time borrowing privileges will be suspended. A Liberty Municipal Library patron’s borrowing privileges will be suspended if TexShare materials are not returned to the TexShare lending library in a timely manner. Borrowing privileges will be restored when all materials are returned and fines are paid to the lending library. If a patron defaults on a TexShare loan, future TexShare privileges will be denied.

Lost items: An item will be considered lost when two months overdue. The cost of the book plus any fines and postage will be charged.
Billing: Fines and fees may be paid at the circulation desk or by mail at 1710 Sam Houston Avenue, Liberty Texas 77575. Unpaid bills will be turned over to the City Municipal Court.
