Scarecrows will soon welcome visitors to the Geraldine D. Humphreys Cultural Center.  Parents, here’s your chance to find a good use for some of those items you really need to toss but just haven’t let go of yet.

The library will supply metal supports for the scarecrows, a heavy duty stapler, newspaper for stuffing, and twine to attach parts to the scarecrows. Participants are asked to bring along recyclable items that can be used to construct the scarecrows, such as plastic pails, gallon water jugs for the head, old clothes, gloves, and boots, anything that can be used to form the body of the scarecrow.

The libary staff will assist in setting up the scarecrows on the front lawn along Sam Houston Avenue where they will remain for several weeks to be enjoyed by passersby.
