Birth Through 2 Years:

Read easy or very easy books with red or yellow tape on the book spine.  A weekly prize will be awarded for reading 10 books and recording them in a reading log.

3 Years Old Through Pre-Kindergarten:

Read easy or very easy books with red or yellow tape on the book spine.  A weekly prize will be awarded for reading 10 books and recording them in a reading log.

Kindergarten Through Second Grade:

Read easy books with yellow tape on the spine.  A weekly prize will be awarded for reading 10 books and recording them in a reading log.

Third Grade Through Sixth Grade:

 Read "J" book, fiction of non-fiction.  A weekly prize will be awarded for reading 3 books and recording them in a reading log.


Reading Rules & Prize Eligibility

* Each participant must have a valid, up-to-date Liberty Municipal Library card and be registered in the Summer Reading Program.

* Only books from the Liberty Municipal Library may be read.

* Each book must be checked out.

* Record the book once in the Reading Log kept on file in the library.

* Participants must read the required amount of books for their reading level. 


End of Program Prizes

Every child who participates will receive a special prize and certificate at the end of the program.  In addition, there will be a GRAND PRIZE given for the most books read in each age category.  There will be a special closing day ceremony and party!


Special Prize Drawing

For every 10 books read (Birth - 2nd Grade) or for every 3 books read (3rd - 6th Grade) your name will be entered in a drawing for EXTRA-SPECIAL SUPER-DUPER PRIZES!!!  Drawing results will be announced at the closing ceremony July 18th.

Groundbreaking ReadsGROUNDBREAKING READS - Young Adult Reading Club 2013

Young adults (YA) in grades 7-12 are invited to participate in the Young Adult summer reading program and related activities.  Sign up at the Liberty Municipal Library after May 20.  Each participant must have a valid, up-to-date Liberty Municipal Library card.

Read three (3) books, e-books, graphic novels, magazines, or audiobooks of your interest.  These materials are located in the F (Fiction), NF (Non-Fiction), YA (Young Adult), CD (Audio), and e (e-book) of the Liberty Municipal Library's collection.  A weekly prize will be awarded for reading three (3) books, recording them in a reading log, and filling out a brief book review on each book that was checked out and read.  All reading logs are kept on file in the library.

Every young adult who participates will receive a special prize and certificate at the closing day ceremony and party.  The closing day ceremony honors the special achievement awards given to the top readers and participation awards for all participants of the young adult program.
