Computer Classes

The Liberty Municipal Library will offer several free computer classes for the public beginning March 5. Ann Rogers, a library volunteer and former teacher with advanced computer skills, will be the instructor. The classes will be held at the library in the upstairs computer lab.
Computer Classes


The first class will be Tuesday, March 5, Beginning Computer, a class for the true beginner. Learn parts of a desktop computer, understand "software", how to open/close programs, use a mouse and flash drive, and intro. to word processing, etc.  It will be presented in three sessions: Tuesday, March 5, Wednesday, March 6, and Thursday, March 7 from 1:30 - 3:00pm.

A beginner’s only Word for Beginners class will discuss inserting clipart, formatting, borders, fonts, "cut & paste", etc.   Basic computer skill are required for class. It will be presented in two sessions: Tuesday, March 12 and Wednesday, March 13 from 1:30 - 3:00pm.

Installing & Using a Printer be on Wednesday, March 20 and will discuss how to pick & install a printer, save on ink, select correct paper types, and print pictures and greeting cards.  This class is designed for beginning computer users.  The class will be held from 1:30 - 3:00pm.

Resumes, Certificates & Hallmark Greeting Cards will be held on Tuesday, March 26.  Computer skills are required for class participation. The class will be held from 1:30 - 3:00pm.

Basics of PowerPoint will be held on April 2. The class will be a simple introduction to Microsoft PowerPoint Program.  Please bring a USB flash drive, if available.  Computer skills are required for class participation. The class will be held from 1:30 - 3:00pm.


Basics of the Internet will be held on Tuesday, April 9.  This is a beginner’s only class and will include an overview of the internet, how to conduct searches, and how to avoid viruses and spyware.  Email will not be covered in this discussion.  The class will be held from 1:30 - 3:00pm.

Laptop Tips will be held on Tuesday, April 23.  The class will help with choosing a laptop and how to add a mouse, keyboard or other components.  Also included will be instructions on disabling the camera or sound, using headphones, and the proper way to clean a screen.  Please bring your laptop for group discussion.  The class will be held from 1:30 - 3:00pm.

Excel will be held on Tuesday, April 30.  Learn where to find/download a version of Excel, tips on entering data, and customizing/using the "ribbon." The class will be held from 1:30 - 3:00pm.

Classes are free but students must come to the library to sign up. A maximum of 8 slots are available per class and will be filled on a "first come, first served" basis.
